PMG Group brings workplace strategy, design and construction together under one roof, with teams in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, and a client list that runs from Dexus and Stockland to Ubisoft and Cognizant. The delivery was excellent. The brand around it was not keeping up.
Three decades of growth had left PMG with a brand that meant something slightly different in every office. Tender documents, capability decks and site signage had each been solved locally, by whoever needed them that week. There was no single system holding it together and no agreed path for getting work approved, so the gap widened every month. For a business whose entire proposition is doing the whole job properly rather than in pieces, a fragmented brand was working against the sales pitch.
We started with strategy, not design. Positioning work and brand architecture came first, then a verbal identity built on a simple idea: PMG is the adult in the room. Confident, unhurried, never shouting. That single line now governs how every piece of PMG copy gets written, from a tender response to an Instagram caption.
From there we built the identity out in full and rolled it across all four offices, so a proposal leaving Adelaide looks and sounds like one leaving Brisbane. Guidelines, asset systems and templates went with it, put where people actually work rather than in a shared drive nobody opens.
Then we stayed. Most brand rollouts start eroding within a year because nobody owns the thing once the launch is over. We closed that gap with a formal approval framework, so there is one clear route for work going out the door, and a quarterly content calendar, so the brand gets deliberate attention on a schedule instead of a scramble. Ongoing brand management now covers brand guardianship, values activation, reputation building and experience mapping, alongside the content and social work that keeps PMG visible between projects.
The result is a brand that matches the standard of the buildings. Three years from now it will still sound like itself, because somebody is making sure it does.
